During the 2023 Munich eMobility Expo, ChargePlus demonstrated their new 350kW DC fast charger using FF1400R17IP4 modules. The units achieved 96.5% efficiency at full load, maintaining case temperatures below 85°C even during back-to-back charging sessions. ‘The low VCE(sat) of 1.85V at 1400A makes all the difference,’ explained lead engineer Marco Weber.
Factory Robots That Never Miss a Beat
At Siemens’ Nuremberg motor drive plant, 120 FF1400R17IP4 modules have been driving 480V servo systems since 2021. With over 28,000 operational hours logged, the failure rate remains at 0.2% – significantly below the industry’s 1.8% average for high-power IGBTs. Maintenance chief Lisa Müller notes: ‘The internal NTC temperature sensor gives us real-time thermal data, preventing 90% of potential overload failures.’
